OUR ACTIVITIES

BREASTFEEDING WEEK

Actions for Community Transformation (ACTion) is joining the health sector in celebrating World Breastfeeding Week, which takes place from August 1st to August 7th every year.

On Monday, August 5, 2024, ACTion organized an event in Tole to support breastfeeding mothers. The event aimed to educate them about the importance of breastfeeding for both babies and mothers, as well as hygiene and sanitation practices that contribute to the healthy growth of infants. Health experts were present to provide guidance and support during the event.

Many participants already had knowledge about certain aspects of breastfeeding. However, they still expressed joy as they learned new things they were previously unaware of. These actions align with the goals set by ACTion, which are in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. At the end of the event, ACTion offered items such as soap, plastic buckets, and more to all the breastfeeding mothers who attended the event.

Sponsorship

50 Pupils sponsorship

Our NGO, Actions for Community Transformation, is excited to announce a new project for the 2024/2025 academic year. We will sponsor 50 pupils to attend primary schools in Tole, Buea. These children are vulnerable, either orphaned or from families unable to afford their education. Despite excelling in their classes last year, they face the risk of not continuing their education due to a lack of resources like bags, books, pens, pencils, uniforms and school fees.

Actions for Community Transformation is committed to giving these children hope for a brighter future. This is our first edition of this initiative, and with the support of the community and humanitarian supporters, we aim to continue improving more lives. Additionally, we will be visiting Tole and other towns around Buea to educate parents on the importance of sending their children to school.
